Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum (竹中大工道具館) is the museum of carpentry tools located in Chuo Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture.
We can not only see old carpentry tools, but also enjoy a woodworking workshop here.
In addition, this museum is chosen in ‘The Top 20 Factory Tours in Japan 2018 by TripAdviser‘.

There is a teahouse called ‘Itteki-an (一滴庵)’ in the courtyard of the museum.
It is only open to the public on specific days in spring and autumn.

The exhibition space on the first basement floor displays not only old carpenter tools but also Horyuji’s scale model and Temple building ornaments.

The exhibition space on the second basement floor displays skeleton structure of the Tearoom and elaborate woodworks.

Do you by any chance have a picture of the mallet/hammer that they had in the chopsticks workshop (I can see the handle in picture 39).
I lost my picture that had it, but I wanted to try and make a similar mallet.
