Mimuroto-ji Temple is a Buddhist temple located in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture.

Because June is rainy season, there is very much rain in Japan.

However, there is the superb view which you can look at only in a season of the rainy season in Japan.

The place that I visited this time is “Mimuruto-ji temple” known as one of the famous place of the hydrangea of Kansai.

This temple is called the another name “hydrangea temple”. About 50 kinds and 10, 000 plants of hydrangea is planted in this temple.

2.Hydrangea garden of Mimuroto Temple

About 50 kinds and 10, 000 plants of hydrangea is planted in this temple. (○´艸`)

Full bloom of hydrangea garden is in June every year.

Admission time:8:30~16:30(from April to October),8:30~16:00(from November to March)
Admission fee:500 yen(Adults)、300 yen(Children

*By the way, in this temple, the azalea(20,000 azaleas) is famous, too. Full bloom of azalea is in May every year.

3.Building of Mimuroto Temple

The signboard of the pilgrimage around the thirty-three holy places in the Kinki district thirty-three temples tenth bill place is raised in the main gate.

The main hall of this temple is rebuilt in 1814, but is a very historical excellent building.

A bell tower and triple tower. Both buildings are built in the Edo era and are designated in cultural assets of Kyoto.

The main shrine of the 18-shrine in the backside of this temple is the oldest building built in 1487(Muromachi era).

“Guardian rabbit” and “Guardian snake”(not guardian dogs) are put in this temple.

A principal idol of the Mimuroto temple is the “Kannon-with-One-Thousand-Arms”.

The nearest station of Mimuroto Temple is Keihan Uji-Line Mimurodo station.
(We can also go by bus from Keihan Uji station or JR Uji station.)
