Eligibility

How to use pass

STEP1	Check with yourlocal car-rental dealerfor details, using the website below. You may not be able to return your rented car at the dealer of your choice when using the Japan Expressway Pass (Japan Expressway Pass) system. Be sure to double-check before renting! There are no problems when you return it to the same place you rented it, though.
STEP2	Reserve the car and expressway electronic toll collection (ETC) card for use with your Japan Expressway Pass pass. The Japan Expressway Pass pass can only be used with regular-sized passenger cars (“ordinary vehicles”). Ask the dealer for information on what types of cars are available.
STEP3	Complete the Japan Expressway Pass application on the day you rent the car. The dealer will explain the system and agreement. The rental and Japan Expressway Pass fees are payable in advance.
STEP4	Pick up your car-rental, and the ETC card needed to use Japan Expressway Pass pricing.
STEP5	And you’re off!
STEP6	Return the car-rental and ETC card, and pay any additional toll fees assessed that were not covered by the Japan Expressway Pass system.
