Murin-an Villa (無鄰菴), located in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, is a facility centered on a Japanese garden and is designated as a place of scenic beauty.
This facilities are another house of Aritomo YAMAGATA (山県有朋) that “Murin-an Conference” was held.
(“Murin-an Conference” is the meeting that decided a Japanese foreign policy just before the outbreak of war of Japan and Russia in 1903.)
It has the Japanese garden which is the garden called Chisen-Kaiyu-shiki-teien (a type of Japanese garden with a pond in the centre).
Its garden is designated as a national scenic beauty.
In addition, there is a sightseeing spot representing Kyoto such as Heian-jingu Shrine and Nanzen-ji Temple in the neighborhood of this facility.

1.About Murin-an
Murin-an (無鄰菴) is a Japanese garden in Kyoto, built by political and military leader Yamagata Aritomo between 1894 and 1898. It is an example of a classical Japanese promenade garden of the Meiji Period.

There has a two-story building on the left side of the entrance. This building is called “Omoya(main building)“.
There is the Japanese garden designed by seventh Jihe OGAWA.
This garden is known as a famous place of colored leaves in Kyoto.
This is the tea-ceremony room in this garden.
It was made as imitation of “薮内燕庵(Yabunochi-Enan)” which is the tea-ceremony room representing Kyoto.
It is the western style building built in 1899 designed by seventh Jihe OGAWA.
“Murin-an Conference” was held in this building.
