Shogunzuka Seiryu-den is the detached area of the Shoren-in temple, located in Zushioku Kachocho, Yamashina-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.

This site offers an amazing view of the city of Kyoto and is said to be the location where a statue of a Shogun was installed to defend the Emperor’s palace when Emperor Kanmu relocated the capital city to Heijokyo.

Therefore this site is also called as “Shogunzuka (Shogun Mound)“.

And the Shogunzuka Seiryu-den and the O-Butai(The big stage of Shogunzuka Seiryu-den) were built newly in 2014.

This stage has an overwhelming scale.

It has 4.6 times larger than the stage of Kiyomizudera Temple.

The view of Kyoto city from this stage is very beautiful・・・!!

So, I went to the Shogunzuka Seiryu-den this time.
