Naoshima is the island of origins of the art in Setouchi.

Benesse house opened in this island in 1992. Then this island became the island that symbolized the art culture that modern art and nature in Setouchi fused.

The perimeter of this small island is about 16km, and there are three large scale art museums and much art works in this island.

This island is certainly an island of the origins of the international art festival in Setouchi.
